Keila started as a doodle in class using a close friend's name, but it evolved into what is now one of my favorite works to date. This piece exhibits my first use of Cinema 4D Release 11 for typography, as well as several new lighting techniques--my goal was to create an atmospheric aura for the type.
I began work on Tesla out of astoundment for the incredible innovation the Tesla Roadster expresses. As the piece focuses around a stock image I retrieved from the Tesla Motors website, I wanted it to feel as though the car were erupting from the background, and emphasize the literal electricity of the vehicle.
This piece was very experimental and challenged me to learn new things along the way of its creation. The work's namesake, Kim Novak, initially expressed interest in being a model for a piece of mine, and we decided to give it a shot. I gained a lot of knowledge of working with stocks in this piece, as well as expression of color.
GRID Racing was an idea struck by a contest held on a social networking community--Brickfish. The idea was to create a poster for a racing game, Codemasters' GRID, which would eventually be converted to a wallpaper. My vision was to recreate a feel of speed in the piece--the unyielding blur induced by blistering acceleration.
Last summer a few other contestants and I had to make a commute, by van, to Atlanta, Georgia. Needless to say, I had some time to kill and a curiosity for doing block letters in Photoshop. Although basic, I really enjoy the composition and visual complexity of the piece, and I feel as though I captured a unique sense of color.

During a period of scarce ideas for work, I came across the webpage for my high school. Inconsistent navigation and many other design atrocities led me to create this redesign. I incorperated the elements already present in the current design while including a more intuitive navigation, and a more appealing interface and color scheme.

Web design and development have long been great hobbies for me. This project placed first at the FBLA State Leadership Conference 2008, and landed me a spot in the National Leadership Conference. As with most of my work, I came to new realizations along the way, particularly with Adobe Flash.

My year on the Highlander Newspaper staff at my high school was one of the most enjoyable and enlightening years of my life. Beginning as a contributing journalist, I switched roles to that of the Production Manager, and held responsibility in designing and deploying our paper every month.
This is definitely my strongest Illustrator piece to date. The idea of Saladfork was stricken by a friend and I during idle time at school, and it has been a great foundation for artwork in our spare time. Being akin to raster, delving into vector and Illustrator's differing way of implementation proved both frustrating and rewarding.
My Senior year of high school has granted me much more school spirit than I have felt in the past, and being part of multiple AP classes is quite a challenge. Having the opportunity to design a class t-shirt for AP Literature was a great privilege for me, and was based off of a symbol from Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest".
